A special presence in our parish are the Pontians from Russia. They have settled in Greece since the 1990s. They maintain their morals and customs and especially their Orthodox faith. There, on the Russian land that they lived, they used the Old Calendar. Here in Greece, they use the New Calendar except from the date of the Feast of the Assumption which they celebrate with the old, customary one. We gather at an iconostasis and we celebrate a Paraklesis to Our Lady, blessing the bread and the rich dishes that they offer. May the Virgin Mary always watch over them.
