“The month of August is wholly dedicated to our Lady. The Holy Monastery of Chrysoskalitissa is dedicated to the Assumption of Our Lady and is South and West of Chania, on a rock on the edge of the sea.
For centuries now the Holy Monastery has monks who serve the Virgin. We had the opportunity for an afternoon trip, that was organized by the ladies of our parish, with two buses full of parishioners to worship her! The sacred icon of Our Lady Mary is 1000 years old and miraculous. It was a great blessing that we were under her shelter. We had a great time and it was worthwhile the trouble we went through. “
