Cutting of Vasilopita Pie 2018

Today in the dance hall KANARIA we cut the Vasilopita pie as a Parish & the Association of Saint Nektarios!
This year, like every year, our bishop Mr. Damaskinos honored us with his presence, accompanied by the protosyncellus Mr. Damaskinos, and the general hierarchic commissioner father Georgios Perrakis, who allowed this event to happen. We all sat together for food, and then the band of the parishioner Manolis Balomenakis on the lute and father Alexandros Ksirouchakis on the lyre entertained us with Cretan music. We exchanged wishes and some people won rich gifts from lottery draws.
May all have a happy and blessed new year, close to our Church and its social service.
Honoring father Emmanuel Petrakis

We felt great joy when during the Divine Liturgy the Bishop announced that he would give to father Emmanuel Petrakis, a priest of our parish for a decade, the clerical award of the Protopresbyter. Father Emmanuel worthily serves Saint Nektarios and he is dear to the parish, constantly attending to his duties. He is WORTHY! May he have health and the stamina to minister in the vineyard of the Lord!
Program of Saint Nektarios’ Feast 2017

Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy

We celebrated with brilliance the Sunday of our Orthodoxy! Our temple was packed with the faithful and after we celebrated the Divine Liturgy, we made the sacred Procession of the Holy Icons with the one of our Jesus Christ being first. “Joy has filled all things by our Savior, born in the world.” We read the proclamation of the seventh Ecumenical Synod and we also confessed our Orthodox faith. Orthodoxy is the great treasure that supported the whole World.
Cutting of the Vasilopita Pie for the Choir members and the Mandolin students

In the music restaurant KONAKI of our city, the choir of Mr. Kostourakis and the mantolinata students cut their Vasilopita pie; an event attended by many of their friends. Along with a group of the older girls of the Shelter of Saint Nektarios, we also found ourselves among them exchanging greetings. We sat at a table with rich dishes, but mostly we enjoyed their musical performance with the beautiful songs that they performed. Beautiful voices coordinated as a group and directed by their maestro Mr. Kostourakis. We wish them to live and enjoy a long happy life and to always show us the good work of their music.
Theophany 06-01-2016

Glorious is the day of Theophany, and in our parish we celebrated in a crowded Church. The Great Blessing of Waters became a custom, surrounded by a variety of events, but primarily it’s about the presence of the Holy Spirit in the water which by spraying, it is transferred everywhere, and through drinking it, it enters within us, heals our weakness and replenishes our shortage. Long live to you all!
Cutting of Vasilopita Pie for the employees

In a festive atmosphere on Tuesday, after New Year‘s Sunday, all the employees of the Institutions of Saint Nektarios cut the Vasilopita Pie. It was a great opportunity to honor our custom this year again and to find ourselves come together, taking a break from our work. It was also a chance for a renewal of our relations with one another for better communication and cooperation, and the smoothing of frictions that may have risen. We wished each other for personal and family joy and happiness. May the new year be blessed and bring to everyone all the best.
Christmas visits!

December 22, 2016
Christmas eve!
Days full of God’s love to man hence the birth and Incarnation of Jesus Christ. Days full of expressions of love to the man in need. The Deputy Head of our city Mr. Apostolos Voulgarakis came here to Saint Nektarios with a group from the district, in order to assist in the social work of our Church. He brought food for the soup kitchen and the Girls Shelter. We thank him very much! We wish him many years of health and joy, and well being in his family and professional life.
November 8th and 9th 2016

With special splendor, we celebrated this year our patron and protector Saint Nektarios. On the eve of November 8th at five o’clock in the afternoon, we welcomed Panagia the Ksenia (from a monastery of Volos). An icon with a story that goes back to the period of Iconoclasm. The icon ended up due to persecution to a monastery of Volos where it made numerous miracles. All the faithful in the region resort to Her for their prayers and requests. On the eve, the ceremony of Vespers was celebrated by our Metropolitan Mr. Damaskinos, while on the Feast day, it was celebrated by the Bishop of Christoupoleos Mr. Makarios.
And of course a great company of priests was present, whom we thank, who respectfully circled the Holy Altar. The Procession of the Holy Relics and the icon of Our Lady was and is a blessing for our parish and the whole city. We thank our Bishop for His care of the institutions of our parish. We thank the Bishop Mr. Makarios for his celebration of the Divine Liturgy and His rich in content preaching.
We thank all who ministered:
a) The ladies at the booths and the Exhibition.
b) Those responsible for the loaves of bread.
c) The commissioners and the company of additional people near them to help.
d) Our sweet-voiced chanters.
e) Those who minister in the Sanctuary.
f) The kitchen crew with the preparation of food, the cook and all of her assistants.
g) The ladies serving and arranging the dining room.
h) The Ecclesiastical School students who brightened the Procession by holding the banners, the Exapteriga, the censers etc.
i) Our secretariat for the communication by phone and service to all.
Heartfelt wishes to all. May Saint Nektarios always help us and the Virgin Mary protect us. The program for the icon of the Virgin is valid for a week and the faihful can come from the morning until late at night to worship.
