Father John Daskalakis visited our parish to worship Saint Nektarios. He served the vespers and the Paraklesis of the Saint. A good Levite, even though he is our patriot, he served for 50 years in Australia at the Holy Temple of Taxiarchos Panormitis in North Sidney. As a seminarian he studied at the Rizarios Ecclesiastical School in which the headmaster was Saint Nektarios. He was fortunate to be present at the monastery of the Saint in Aegina during his official canonization in 1960.
Thus he has spiritual ties with Saint Nektarios who he greatly reveres. At the end of our Paraklesis he gave a rich and soul-guiding speech, which we all accepted as dew of the Holy Spirit. We asked him to always remember us in his prayers.
